The Legal Team
The Legal Team at Welcome to the Jungle, composed of 3 people, is an integral part of the Operations teams.
Our mission? Provide operational and strategic support to all teams to foster our growth in France and internationally. From drafting contracts to data protection, to intellectual property and new technologies, we handle a wide variety of legal topics every day. Our approach? Pragmatic, agile and business-friendly!
Your Role
By joining our team, you will report directly to our Lead Compliance Legal Counsel & DPO. You will be quickly involved in our projects, working closely with the Product, Tech, Business and Marketing teams. At Welcome to the Jungle, the Legal Team is fully integrated into operations and actively participates in the company’s strategic decisions.
You will work on diverse legal issues, particularly technology law, commercial law, personal data protection law and intellectual property law. You will thus develop your in-house legal practice and gain real hands-on legal experience.
Your Missions:
Global Legal Support
- Draft, review and negotiate all types of commercial contracts: client agreements, service contracts, IT contracts, marketing and media partnerships
- Provide concrete legal advice to teams by responding directly to issues in commercial law, copyright law, personal data protection law and trademark law
- Support our international expansion, notably in the UK: adapt contracts to local legislation, monitor legal specificities of foreign markets, participate in meetings with international teams in English
Data Protection & Compliance
- Actively participate in DPO tasks: update the processing register, analyze new data-processing activities, review privacy policies, draft responses to user data subject access requests
- Collaborate with Product and Tech teams to implement “privacy by design” in our products: participate in design meetings, analyze features from a data-protection perspective, recommend security measures
- Contribute to Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs): gather information from business teams, analyze risks, propose mitigation measures
- Monitor developments on the European AI Act and support our compliance: analyze regulatory impacts on our AI projects, develop recommendations, participate in meetings with technical teams
Organization & Knowledge Management
- Help optimize our Legal Drive: organize folders, update contract templates, create practical reference sheets and legal guides for operational teams
- Create and deliver internal legal training: prepare educational materials, lead awareness sessions on key legal topics (GDPR, intellectual property, commercial contracts)
- Conduct proactive legal monitoring: track legislative and case-law developments in our fields, write summary notes for the Legal Team and relevant operational teams
- Contribute to continuous improvement of our legal processes: propose tools and methods to streamline legal request handling, automate recurring tasks, create reference sheets and guides for operational teams

- Internship allowance of €1 200 or €1 400 gross per month depending on study level

Preferred Experience
Education and Experience
- You are in Master 2 in business/commercial/IT law, ideally with an interest in data protection
- You have a first experience in a law firm or in-house (a plus if you have already worked in a startup)
- You are fluent in French and have a good level of English (essential for our international projects)
- You have an interest in new technologies and the legal issues they raise
